Pregnancy Announcements

Expectant mothers can attest that one of the top pregnancy symptoms is the overwhelming, uncontrollable urge to tell everyone that you’re expecting! If you’ve been trying to conceive, you’ve probably created a long list of creative ways to announce your pregnancy to your husband or partner and then to the rest of your family, friends, co-workers, the mail carrier, your hair stylist, and … well, you get the point. As you’re narrowing down your announcement ideas, resist the temptation to post your announcements on facebook or to email a photo of a bun in the oven. For such a miraculous and life-changing event as a pregnancy, go with something special and make the announcement memorable! Shopping tips for expectant mothers:

1. Choose a baby design or baby bump design. Announcement cards that feature a baby bump or a silhouette of an expectant mom use your pregnant belly as the focal point and are available for ordering under “unique” announcements. If you want a more subtle suggestion of pregnancy, then consider more babyish designs featuring baby rattles, stuffed animals, and other baby motifs. These cards are listed under “general” announcements.

2. Decide whether or not you want to reveal baby’s gender. If you want to keep the sex of your baby a surprise, then shop our “gender neutral” announcements. If mom and dad want to share the gender of the baby, then you may have to wait until your ultrasound at around 18-22 weeks of pregnancy. Many women choose to wait after the first trimester to make their announcement, so waiting a few more weeks shouldn’t be too difficult to “bear” if you really want to announce whether the baby is a boy or a girl.

3. How about a photo? Many of our cards are photo pregnancy announcements, which allow you to have a photo printed directly on the card along with your wording. For a nice touch, add a copy of your sonogram or a photo of the expectant couple. Speaking of sonogram, if you’re looking for a keepsake or a gift for future grandparents, take a look at our sonogram picture frames.

4. Choose your wording. If you want your announcement to be light-hearted, search for some humorous poems and sayings or write one yourself and you’ll have some really funny pregnancy cards. Whether your taste is funny or touching, see our pregnancy wording ideas for some fantastic suggestions.
