Personal Baby Websites: Our Design Process
Unlike childbirth, our process for designing your baby's personal website is painless. Here's how it works:
Step 1 - Consultation
Upon submitting your contact information, a Baby Cachet web designer will contact you typically within one business day to familiarize you with our design process and to discuss theme, colors, content, schedule, and any questions you may have.
Step 2 - Proposal
After the initial consultation, Baby Cachet will prepare a formal proposal. This proposal will detail your requirements and provide an estimate of time and cost required to complete the website. A typical personal baby website will cost about $500-$1000 and require 2-4 weeks to complete depending on how many webpages are involved. You may choose to accept, revise, or decline the proposal. Our initial consultation and proposal write-up are complimentary services for our customers, so you will owe us nothing if you choose to decline the proposal.
Step 3 - Design Development
Once a proposal is accepted, we will ask you to make a deposit equal to half the cost of the personal baby website with the balance due at the completion of the website. Upon receipt of the deposit, we will begin work on a mockup of what your baby's website will look like when it's completed. At this stage, our web designer will work closely with you to develop that perfect, one-of-a-kind look for your baby's website.
Step 4 - Web Development
After receiving your final approval on the mockup, we will then begin building the personal baby website and webpages, incorporating any text and images you provide.
Step 5 - Test & Launch
After the site is built, you will be able to view all pages to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. After final approval and payment has been received, you will receive a complete copy of the personal baby website, ready for you to publish on your domain.
Domain Name Registration and Hosting
Our cost estimate is for designing and developing the website only and does not include fees for domain name registration or monthly hosting service. Although we do not provide these services, we will be happy to help you register a domain name of your choice and set up a hosting plan on your behalf.
Future Updates
We do not offer a website updating service. While our websites are designed so that text and photos can be readily updated, you will need to know some basic techniques such as how to upload (FTP) files to your server and how to navigate through HTML code. If you are unfamiliar with these techniques, you can learn them yourself or hire someone to do it for you. In many cases, your hosting provider can update your website for a nominal fee.
